This blog is about a military family with a mother serving on active duty as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy JAG Corps, a civilian husband (”it’s the toughest job in the Navy”) and daughter Citrus carving out a place for herself in the world. We currently live near Washington DC.

About the author:
Mitja is a high school dropout who grew up in Berkeley and is a double graduate of New York University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Metropolitan Studies and a Master of Public Administration with a focus on policy analysis.
When not working as a strategic planner at AARP or volunteering in the military community, he takes care of his toddler, Clementine, and teaches her how to belt out “Anchors Aweigh”.
It is probably safe to say he is the only military spouse named after a Marxist revolutionary — his middle name is Che.
