Our big surprise on Christmas morning was that our daughter slept in and when she woke up, at 8:30 a.m., it took her about ten minutes to remember that Santa might have visited.
She raced to the living room and discovered that the milk and cookies were gone! This is the first time that someone has been able to eat a treat in our house without her elbowing in.
Santa's milk and cookies are gone!
Two bed-heads reading the thank-you note from Santa
It only took a few moments for her to get excited about opening presents.
A new block puzzle!
Elysia had to stand watch the day after Christmas. I gave Citrus a bike-riding lesson and she did pretty well, although she kept reaching out to grab me when she picked up any speed. She had one big tumble and scratched her elbow but laughed through her tears when I told her that when Uncle Aaron was a boy I taught him how to ride his bike.
Learning to ride her new bicycle
An hour of riding around the neighborhood was enough in the 89-degree heat. We parked the bike at home and headed to the base to pick up Elysia.
