Funny You Should Ask

A friend complimented me on my photos so, not believing it, I looked again through my recent shots from the Philippines.  Every time I take my camera out I come home with about 180 photos which I usually cull down to about 30 to save, and a handful to post.

In this case I posted about 60 so that my brother, Aaron, could also try to figure out exactly what our dad is doing in the Philippines.  The answer is simple and may be best captured in a photo of him with his son and a goat.  He has a family and goats.

In the past it would have been a dog, but sadly the dog died recently.  The rest of the photos simply serve to show that although other things happen in the Philippines, the heart of it is family and goats.

Going through the photos again I see a few that I really like for their composition (water buffalo), the others have elements that I wish I could change (Citrus in front of the church with a guy on his cell phone in the background).

During the three hour taxi ride from Cebu City to the northern tip of Cebu island I was not thinking about the details when I snapped this photo of the bus, barely capturing it in the frame.  I saw the people on top and the Tasmanian Devil.  Ha Ha.

What I only noticed now is the perfect touch to the picture, something seen in a blur on nearly every commercial vehicle that passed us by crossing the lane divider into oncoming traffic, a game of chicken every time:

How's my driving?

Maybe they are all so busy calling each other in for bad driving that they become bad drivers?! ;)

Another instant classic.

Suzanne (my wife) asked me what I thought of the pictures and my only response was, ” look’s like he’s in his element”
