Look who dropped by for a visit

CatI was taking out some recycling tonight and found a kitty on our patio.  Despite being in my socks, I stood outside in the 12 degree cold for about fifteen minutes trying to coax her inside.  She finally came in, lured by a piece of turkey.

A very nice kitty.  Unlike another outdoor cat in our neighborhood that always runs away, I think this one must have escaped from her house.  No collar, no ID.  Incredibly friendly.  Tomorrow we will go to the humane society and see if she is microchipped.  She appears to have some stitches so she may be newly adopted.

I used to have two cats and they traveled across the United States by car a couple of times when we PCS’ed to Seattle and to Washington DC.  They are long gone but their four kitty carriers and litter box were in our closet, so this cat moved right in.

It is like my birthday present walked right in the door, a day early, and our daughter is already asking if we can keep her.  Adopting a cat is probably the last thing we need right now.  Whee shell sea.
