For the first time, we took a week of vacation and did not travel anywhere. It was pretty good, although you know you’re getting old when the week’s highlights involved getting a new vacuum cleaner (and being excited about getting a deal on one), looking at bathroom fixtures, and installing shelving. The house breaks first, the residents are next. So far so good.
Elysia is usually the one who tackles the home repair projects without hesitation. The Navy sends her to Norfolk when she’s 7 months pregnant and the next thing you know she’s standing on top of a cat condo with a drill. Today, however, I did a little drywall repair. If you ever want to live inside a gingerbread house, cake decorating tip #19 works well with joint compound.

Will one of you come out west and caulk my tub?! I can’t seem to get around to that. Perhaps bring cake decorating tip #19–sounds like it could be useful and pretty to boot!
I just got a new vacuum cleaner too! Actually, it is new for me–my mom and I traded. Now I have a pretty red one, she has a pretty blue one. Neither one of us likes to vacuum so I think I’ll use mine as decoration.
Perhaps your next cake could have a home improvement theme…
End of random babbling…
Talk about a girly bathroom — I can see it now: all pink and decorating with frosting designs. I think caulk would work. I wonder if a decorating tip would fit on the end of a toothpaste tube?
So I finally bought the caulk but I don’t have the decorating tip yet. And I call myself a baker… Ha!
